Read on for more information and a full schedule.

Championship Online Poker Series Overview

The Championship Online Poker series will take place in all Chico Poker Network poker rooms namely SportsBetting Poker, BetOnline, and TigerGaming. It will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 million. The Main Event will have a $300,000 guarantee. This festival will be made up of 222 individual events taking place every day for three weeks with varying buy-in ranges appealing to players with different bankrolls and skill levels. To be more accurate, buy-ins will range from $5.50 up to $320 and the guarantees will range from $1,000 up to $200,000. Many events are going to be a perfect fit for low and medium-stakes players. Combined with a soft playing field and HUD support, this provides an excellent opportunity for good poker.

Notable Events

The obvious highlight of the Championship Online Poker Series is its Main Event with a prize pool of $300,000. You can find it listed on the schedule as $109 Championship Event #83-H. It will take place on the final day of the festival, Sunday, September 26. Additionally, the Main Event is going to be joined by two “Mini” Main Events. To be specific, they are called $20 Championship Event #83-M and $5 Championship Event #83-L. The prize pool for the medium stakes Mini Main Event is going to be $30,000, while the low stakes Mini Main Event is going to have a guarantee of $8,000. There are 2 ways you can qualify for the $109 Championship Event #83-H via satellites. The first way is through an 18-max SnG ($1.5 buy-in) which will have two $12.5 tickets guaranteed or a 9-max SnG ($12.5 buy-in) which will have one ticket to the Main Event guaranteed. The second way is through hourly MTT ($1.5 buy-in) which guarantees three $12.5 tickets or through a daily MTT ($12.5 buy-in) which guarantees three Main Event tickets. Keep in mind that at least 5 players are needed for these satellites to start. The Championship Online Poker Series Main Event will need to gather at least 3,000 entries. Only this way it will avoid an overlay.

On top of that, there will be three PKO Sunday Special events. They will also take place on September 26th and will have a similar format to the Main Event, meaning that they will also have a high, medium, and low stake event. The high stakes PKO Sunday Special will have a $75,000 guarantee, while the medium and low stakes events will have prize pools of $30,000 and $8,000 respectively.

Other interesting events that will take place during the Championship Online Poker Series are the High Roller Deepstak Event (#85-HR) with a prize pool of $50,000 and the Mini Roller Deepstack Event (#85-M) with a prize pool of $15,500. They will both take place on Sunday, September 26th at 5:00 PM EST. The High Roller Deepstak Event will have a $300 buy-in and the Mini Roller Deepstack will have a $30 buy-in.

Different Formats on Offer

The Championship Online Poker Series will not be limited to a large prize pool but will also feature a broad range of poker formats. Alongside games in a classing No-Limit Hold’em, this festival will also include many events in Pot-Limit Omaha and Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo formats.

If you are a regular or a high-roller, then you are going to be interested in putting your skills to the test in the various Deepstack events (two of them were mentioned earlier) with more than 100bb. You can count on some big payouts during the Progressive Knockouts (PKOs) as you knock out more and more of your opponents from the tournament. It is evident that there will be quite a few Deepstack and PKO events during this year’s Championship Online Poker Series.

What’s New This Year?

Chico Poker Network didn’t hold any tournament series for over 6 months. Players of this network could only participate in The King of the Ring in February and some scheduled regular tournaments. However, Chico Poker Network has finally decided to host a large tournament in order to capitalize on more players coming back to poker after the summer recession.

This year’s tournament has seen some changes. As you might have already noticed, 3 tournaments are going to be separated by buy-ins with Low, Medium, High. This tournament is also going to be dominated by the No-Limit Hold’em format, as there are only 26 Omaha events. If we compare this year’s Championship Online Poker Series to the one held in 2020, then the total guarantee remained the same. However, the amount of events has grown by 30% and the minimum buy-in was increased to $5.5.

When it comes to overlays, it is evident that Chico Poker Network has put some work into avoiding them. However, there is still a chance to have them in Main Events and High Roller Deepstakck.
